At the TV Drama Writers’ Conference of East Asia, which has developed in size and contents as time has passed by and at which drama writers which are most loved by viewers from many countries like South Korea, China, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Thailand, and the Philippines, writers showed their own dramas and sought after the possibility of mutual exchanges. Unlike the first and second conferences where only South Korea, China, and Japan had mutual exchanges, the third conference invited writers of Southeastern Asia, turning it into a substantial exchange plaza for Asian broadcasting writers. By the end of the conference, it produced tangible results by adopting a resolution to share information on each nation’s dramamarkets and to make efforts for developing globally competitive drama contents.

On the other hand, it discussed how to step up the drama writers network across Asia through a two-way exchange and how to jointly develop globally competitive drama contents by making use of the homogeneity of Asian culture and the bond of sympathy of creative culture. It served as a momentum to inform journalists and producers at home and abroad and writers of how crucial it is to jointly produce dramas toward not only Asia but also the entire world and to make them once again aware of how essential the conference is through a case presentation of the telecinema project aimed at the joint drama production by South Korea, China, and Japan.
