The Korea Foundation for International Culture Exchange is looking for qualified overseas correspondents as described below. We look forward to hearing from you.

 

1. Country (2 countries, 2 correspondents)
- Taiwan (Taipei), Japan (Osaka)

 

2. Eligibility and duties
A. Eligibility
  - A specialist or someone involved in the culture (industry) sector who resides in either of the two countries listed above
  - Has the ability to communicate in local and Korean languages fluently and to write Korean articles
B. Correspondent’s duties
 1) Compose correspondent news (at least 4 times per month)
  - Analyze and write articles on the local trends related to Hallyu and the Korean cultural industry
  - Monitor cultural industry policies of the local ministry of culture (relevant organization)
  - Monitor the various charts and statistics of the cultural industry
  - Monitor the trends of major groups and organizations of the cultural industry
  - Conduct research on university-level academic papers related to Korean culture
  - Monitor Hallyu-related surveys
 2) Compose articles for KOFICE news (Hallyu Story)
  - Write in-depth, professional articles on specific themes as requested by KOFICE
 3) Other duties
  - Perform the tasks of a local coordinator for KOFICE’s overseas projects
  - Perform other temporary tasks as requested by KOFICE

 

3. Recruiting process
A. Recruiting period (Korean time)
 1) Receiving application: April 1, 2014 (Tue) - April 13, 2014 (Sun)

 2) Successful candidates announced on: April 15, 2014 (Tue; estimated)
 3) Work starts on: April 16, 2014 (Wed; estimated)
B. Required forms (Korean)

  3) One copy of column (form provided)
  - Subject: Proposal for mutual exchange through Hallyu and the latest Hallyu trends in your local area
  - Pages: Less than three sheets of A4
C. Criteria for judging (100 points)
 1) Suitability for the job (50 points)
 2) Composition skills (40 points)
 3) Local network (10 points)

5. Terms of contract
 A. The contract is valid from the date it goes into effect to December 31, 2014.
 B. The contract may be cancelled after work evaluation three months after the contract goes into effect.
 C. The contract may be cancelled if the monthly work evaluation falls below the average (60 points).
 (Evaluation criteria: Honesty, validity, and usefulness of article content, local network, etc.)
