KARA’s fourth member Heo Young-ji (20) gave a tearful comment on joining the team. Heo Young-ji was selected as a new member of KARA on MBC Music “KARA Project-KARA the Beginning” that aired on July 1. She came out first in the competition against So-jin, So-min, and Chae-won on the final live stage and became the fourth member of KARA. She was still full of emotions after the show when she gave an interview, saying that she was ecstatic to join KARA.

When asked whether she had known that she would win the coveted position, she answered that she had no expectations at all and burst into tears. As for crying uncontrollably when she was announced the winner of the contest, she explained, “I was thankful to all baby KARA members and everyone who helped me through.” When asked about her readiness as a member of KARA, she regained her composure and sounded firm, “I am going to give my best till I drop so that I do not shame the name KARA.” Lastly, she addressed her fans who supported her all the way, “I am truly grateful to everyone who helped me this far. I will not let you down.”

Heo Young-ji was a frontrunner in the race from the first episode of the program. Her popularity was clearly evident in global voting, which she never lost once. Young-ji has both sweet and sexy looks and strong vocal and dance skills. The original KARA members acknowledged all the efforts of the baby KARA members who took part in the project and asked their fans for consistent support and love. The complete 4-member KARA consisting of Park Kyu-ri, Han Seung-yeon, Koo Ha-ra, and Heo Young-ji will return this summer.
