Student reporters of Chinese universities Visit to Report on Korean Culture

- Debate session with students of Dept. of Chinese Literature, Ewha Womans University

- Hallyu experience—Hansik food, Digital Pavilion, Incheon Korean Wave Festival

Student reporters of Chinese universities will visit Korea under the invitation of Korea Foundation for International Culture Exchange (KOFICE) from August 9 to 17. The 30 students selected from top Chinese universities, including Peking University, Tsinghua University and Fudan University, will experience Korean culture and deepen their understanding of Korea during their visit.

One of the events they will attend is a debate session with Chinese literature students of Ewha Womans University on the roles of youth for furthering Korea-China amity. The session will include presentations on the problems of Korea-China cultural conflict and their solutions and the roles of future opinion leaders in improving Korea-China amity. The seminar is expected to provide an opportunity for the university students to gain the knowledge for improving cultural exchange between two countries. The Chinese students will also attend Incheon Korean Wave Festival, make Korean traditional food and engage in other activities that can broaden their experiences of Korean culture.

Since 2005, KOFICE has been inviting foreign opinion leaders to Korea to promote correct understanding of Korean culture and to further cultural exchange between the two countries. KOFICE plans to focus on inviting university student reporters and next generation opinion leaders and contribute to informing Korea through on and offline media and improving the national image as a cultural power.
