The 7th Asia Song Festival, hosted by Korea Foundation for International Culture Exchange (KOFICE) in October 2010, will be broadcast or has been broadcast in 40 countries.

In Japan, the leading private broadcast station Fuji TV’s CS satellite channel aired Asia Song Festival on January 16, 2011. BS satellite channel will air it on February 13. On March 3, Asia Song Festival will entertain the viewers for 90 minutes through Fuji TV’s terrestrial channel. Although it is not common for Japanese terrestrial broadcasters to air foreign music programs, Asia Song Festival has appeared on a terrestrial channel for 3 consecutive years since 2009.

Aside from Japan, Asia Song Festival has been shown or will be shown on major terrestrial TV or cable and satellite TV in Asia, including China’s CCTV, Hong Kong’s TVB, Taiwan’s Azio TV, Thailand’s Channel 9, Philippines’ ABS-CBN, Indonesia’s Indosiar and Malaysia’s 8 TV and ASTRO. Furthermore, Asia Song Festival earned favorable responses in Europe, which has always reacted mildly to Asian pop music. YLE TV (terrestrial), the state-run broadcast station of Finland, will broadcast Asia Song Festival again this year. The Festival will also be shown in Ukraine by the most watched terrestrial program, “1+1 TV.” Bulgaria, Russia and the Czech Republic are planning to air the Festival in the second half of this year. This will have a positive influence on the globalization of Asian culture. The TV stations of Central Asia, Mongolia and Africa are also showing encouraging responses. People in the broadcast industries of these regions who share Asian sentiments and tendencies are highly interested in cultural exchange that takes place through music, the global language. 

Asia Song Festival is the largest pop music festival in Asia that brings together music industry leaders and top musicians who represent the popular music industries of approximately 10 countries. Aside from Asia, it has been broadcast in North America, North Europe, Central Asia and the South Pacific (Fiji) since 2008. Asia Song Festival is watched in more than 40 countries and has earned the reputation of a music program that represents the current status of Asian popular music.
