Title Woori Financial Group CEO Lee Pal-seung Appointed the 5th Chairman of Korea Foundation for International Culture Exchange

□ Korea Foundation for International Culture Exchange (KOFICE) held a meeting of directors on the 30th and appointed Lee Pal-seung, CEO of Woori Financial Group, as the fifth chairman.
  
□ Chairman Lee was the former president of Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra and the president of Support Group for Sejong Center for the Performing Arts and the founder of Woori Multicultural Scholarship Foundation. He has shown consistent support and commitment to the cultural industry at large.
 
□ KOFICE also appointed Heo Yong-su, GS Executive Director, and Roh Hee-young, CJ Group’s Brand Advisor, from the industrial sector and Kim Young-jin, President of Korea Entertainment Producers’ Association, Jung Hyun-wook, President of Korea Association of Performing Arts Producers, and Jung Hoon-tak, President of Corea Entertainment Management Association, from the cultural sector as elected members of the board of directors and established a foundation for promoting Hallyu and propelling the cultural sector and the industrial sector organically.  
 
□ At the meeting, Chairman Lee mentioned the importance of recognizing Hallyu as an infrastructure for selling Korean products because Hallyu has already progressed from a trend stage to a Korean products consumption stage.
“Through more active cultural exchange with countries around the world, KOFICE will help Hallyu go beyond Asia and stand at the center of the world.”
 
KOFICE is a non-profit organization that monitors the Hallyu trend in the world, supports Korean performance teams’ participation in famous festivals abroad, gives cultural ODA to developing countries, establishes a cultural interactive network and performs research on Hallyu. It aims to help Korean cultural content enter the world stage.
