K-pop Dance School took place in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and Buenos Aires, Argentina, the two cities that are at the heart of Hallyu in South America. The participants got to interact with Korean singers and choreographers and learn the most popular K-pop dances. Selected on a first-come, first-serve basis, 300 people from Brazil and 150 participants from Argentina attended the event. The participants were fully engrossed in the hour-long class, trying hard not to lose even the smallest of movements. At the end of the workshop, five best dancers were selected and awarded with autographed K-pop CDs. The dance workshop attracted more participants than expected, illustrating the extent of K-pop fever in South America. Hopefully, there will be more similar events in the future that can promote Korean culture in South America.
