Jun Ji-hyun: I’m playing Cheon Song-hee, and she is a beautiful woman, the star of Asia, that kind of role. She’s very attractive, and she is also the most comical character at the same time. Ingenuous beauty… I want to say she has an ingenuous beauty about her.

So if you saw the preview just now, you would know, but she makes lots of word mistakes, and she thinks that she knows everything. I think those things are part of her attractiveness.

Caption: Q: Why did you choose this drama?

Ji-hyun: The stories of what can happen when someone comes from the stars was very interesting. But it’s also very easy to focus on the fact that someone’s an alien, or say the woman doesn’t have very much to do. But Cheon Song-hee’s character is so much like mine that it might not be good for my image, but I think she’s perfect for me. So as I received Park Ji-eun’s scripts, I got that feeling. And I began to think that it would be strange if I didn’t take the role.

Caption: Q: How does it feel to work on a drama after 14 years?

Ji-hyun: At first it took some time to get used to it, and I don’t want to make excuses, but the parts I did at first seem very poor, so I worried quite a lot.

Song-hee: You want my autograph? To take a photo? Would you like to go away now?

Ji-hyun: But I think I got used to it very quickly. As I got more used to it, I think that I was able to focus much more on my acting.

I think, and I’m confident that I will get better in time.

Actually, it’s all the same; acting is all the same, anywhere. If there is something different, it’s that with films, they’re only shown after everything is finished. I think that’s more comforting. But with dramas, the people who watch it, my family, and people I know are all monitoring what happens almost in real-time, so I can’t relax until the very end. Thinking about it that way, it feels like a very new experience.

There are lots of new things, but I’m trying not to think of it as new. Also, it’s been a long time since I’ve been in a drama, but I get the feeling that I should keep doing it.

So I don’t feel that I want this feeling of newness or any discomfort to stay with me for long.

Caption: What was it like working with Kim Su-hyun again?

Ji-hyun: Even in The Thieves too, Kim Su-hyun was… Actually, he didn’t seem nervous at all.

So after a long time, and many projects, we ended up working together again.
