TaeTiSeo on Viewable Radio

DJ : It’s TaeTiSeo!

TTS : Hello, we’re Girls’ Generation.

DJ1 : - They said it a bit early.

DJ2 : It’s nice to have you.

Staff : Are your headphones not working?

Taeyeon : They’re broken.

Tiffany : They’re labeled “broken.”

DJ : Oh, no.

DJ : Darn the staff! Why didn’t they check?

Tiffany : It’s alright.

DJ : OK.

DJ : I guess you’ll have to listen to us without headphones. Let’s go around and say hello.

Taeyeon : Hello, everyone, this is Taeyeon.

Tiffany : Hello, this is Tiffany.

Seohyun : Hello, this is Seohyun.

DJ : Today we have our 3 guests on Visible Radio, but unfortunately, the camera can’t get all of us into the shot, so Young-woo is not in the shot.
It looks like a 3-on-3 blind date. Maybe we should pair up later. This spot was put together a bit last-minute. We normally do Visible Radio on Wednesdays, but today, the director made an exception. We asked if he would be OK shooting on a Monday,

DJ : and he said yes ‘cause it’s TaeTiSeo.

TTS : Thank you.

DJ : He normally doesn’t even come inside the studio. We rarely see him in here ‘cause he’s usually outside. But today, he’s behind the camera.

TTS : Thank you.

DJ : Unfortunately, he’s shooting us, not the guests. Sorry, you can’t switch.

DJ : Lee So-yeon says that we forget that we’re celebrities too.

DJ : Cho Mi-young keeps saying how pretty TaeTiSeo is, and Kang Young-jin says that he’s skipped lunch to see TaeTiSeo.

TTS : He shouldn’t skip lunch...

DJ : Have you had breakfast?

Tiffany : Yes, we had something light on the way.

DJ : What do you usually have?

Seohyun : We have rice.

DJ : You eat on time?

Seohyun : Yes.

DJ : What time did you get up?

DJ : You’re making it sound like we’re on a blind date.

DJ : But lots of people must be curious about their normal day’s schedule.

DJ : That’s true. Lots of shows film on the weekends, so is Monday the least busy?

Taeyeon : Yes, music shows don’t film on Mondays, so we usually don’t have to get up as early.

DJ : But on days like this you have interviews elsewhere.

Taeyeon : Yes, that’s right.

DJ : Aren’t I right?

DJ : So you still have to get up early.

Taeyeon : Yes.

DJ : You must be busy, since you’re on every single music show.

Tiffany : We were busy this weekend because of our comeback special, but we weren’t performing much before then.

DJ : ‘Cause you were recording?

Tiffany : Yes.

DJ : So this week you’ve been performing.

Tiffany : Yes.

DJ : Then is this your first radio interview since?

DJ : I guess not.

DJ : But thank you for coming on “Hope Song at Noon.”

Taeyeon : Thank you for having us.

DJ : Any program would die to have you.

DJ : This is sounding like a blind date again. “It’s nice to meet you.” “Nice to meet you, too.”
Shall we order some drinks? What are your hobbies?

DJ : You’ve been all over the news since your comeback performance.
“TaeTiSeo shows explosive presence and singing ability.” “TaeTiSeo displays elegance and girl-next-door vitality.” “5-year veteran idols TaeTiSeo, lovely as always.” Are there more?

DJ : You’ve been singing for 5 years?

TTS : Yes.

DJ : It’s been that long already?

Taeyeon : We debuted in 2007.

Tiffany : It seems strange because you saw us when we were so young.

DJ : Yes, we were a bit anxious, because many groups are different from when they debuted after they’ve tasted enormous success, and those around them can feel intimidated by them. But with you, we didn’t feel that way,

DJ : so thank you.

Tiffany : It’s nothing.

DJ : Taeyeon, you look the same as you did when you DJ’d here.

Taeyeon When we got here, I felt so strange being here again.

DJ : Has it been a while?

Taeyeon : Yes.

Tiffany : She hasn’t been here since last fall, so when we got here, I told her, “It’s your motherland.” It was this studio, too.

DJ : The producer you worked with also stopped by.

Taeyeon : I call her “Mom.” It’s so nice seeing her again.

DJ : Taeyeon, do you still dream of becoming a radio show host?

Taeyeon : Of course. I still love radio, and would love to do it.

DJ : I read in an article that you messed up on your first performance.

Tiffany : Spill it, Taeyeon.

Taeyeon : Well, it wasn’t a huge mistake, just a very small one, not too noticeable.

DJ : It was no big deal?

Tiffany : I beg to differ.

DJ : Let’s hear from Reporter Tiffany. What happened, exactly?

Taeyeon : It was just a small hand move.

DJ : Maybe it was noticeable because so many were watching.

Tiffany : It was more so because it was only the 3 of us. People have a certain hand they prefer to hold the mic with. For Taeyeon it’s her right hand, which made it more noticeable.

Taeyeon : I have to hold it with my right hand.

DJ : Oh, I see.

Taeyeon : So the dance gets confusing since I have to keep switching the mic around.

DJ : We know what you mean. We have short dances when we perform as well, but we can never get the choreography right since we all hold the mic with our right hands. We can’t sing properly if we hold it with our left hand,

DJ : and it’s hard to go high.

Taeyeon : Definitely.

DJ : We’re going to find a way to make it work. I really like the name, “TaeTiSeo.”
Did you ladies come up with that, or did your agency give you that name?

Tiffany : We didn’t come up with it.

DJ : Seohyun, can you tell us how the group got that name?

Seohyun : Since this is Girls’ Generations’ first unit group, we really contemplated for days on a name for our group. Because we represent Girls’ Generation, we didn’t want a new name, but we also couldn’t introduce ourselves as Girls’ Generation.
And in the midst of our contemplation, our agent said, “How about TTS?” He thought combining the first letter of our names would make it easier for people to recognize us.
But we didn’t like it, so while brainstorming another name, we happen to look at our schedule chart which read, “Tae Ti Seo’s interview” with so and so, which is short for Taeyeon, Tiffany, Seohyun. That’s how TaeTiSeo came about.

Tiffany : Not very unique, right?

Tiffany : Thank you.

Seohyun : Thank you.

DJ : I think it’s a great name.

Tiffany : During an interview we did yesterday, Goo Ha-ra pronounced our name DdaeTiSeo.

DJ : Ddaehyun, Tiffany, Seohyun!

Tiffany : Please pronounce it correctly. It’s TaeTiSeo.

DJ : All this time that we were talking, one of our staff was looking at Seo-hyun.
I bet he’s not even listening and just staring at the screen.

DJ : I’m sure it’s not just him.

Seohyun : That’s funny.

DJ : There you are on screen.

Taeyeon : The camera’s zoomed in on you.

DJ : It does that when you talk.

DJ : There’s something I’m curious about. When the 9 of you sing together, you rarely get to sing, and I’m sure you get jealous over other members’ parts.
But since it’s just the 3 of you, you have more solos and sing longer than usual. How do you like that?

Taeyeon :I love singing, and as a member who’s wanted more singing parts, I’m happy that I now do.

Tiffany : We’re thrilled.

Taeyeon : I finally feel like I’m actually singing.

DJ : Is that right?

Taeyeon : Before, it was so quick and short…

DJ : And you do one or two ad libs.

Taeyeon :Yes, I do that a couple of times. I mean, I think it’s still fun. I don’t mind it.

DJ : In your new album, the three of you have a lot of ad libs. It almost sounds like you’re all venting. Passionately.

Tiffany : It was a bit excessive.

DJ You must’ve done it until you ran out of ad libs.

Taeyeon : She went all out.

DJ : What about Seohyun?

Tiffany : The 9 of us normally practice together, but the 3 of usrecorded individually for this album, and Seohyun practiced alone the longest.

DJ : She’s an ambitious one.

Tiffany : Our producer said that she’s very meticulous, and he’s glad to work with her.

DJ : If you’re that driven, you should try composing a song.

Taeyeon : Yeah, give it a try.

DJ : And that’s TaeTiSeo on their song, “Twinkle”. That song is a complete hit. The performance is also fantastic. Ho-jin has something to say about it.

DJ : Before I saw “Twinkle”, I saw Tiffany and Taeyeon perform “Lady Marmalade” two days before that. I couldn’t believe how good they were. You must’ve practiced so much.
I really like how “Twinkle” and “Lady Marmalade” have a similar vibe.

Tiffany : When we did a tour all over Asia, each of us had to prepare individual performances.
Taeyeon and I had in mind the same idea,

Tiffany: so we teamed up…

Taeyeon : And did a duet.

Tiffany : We sang that song for 30 of our tours. It was a comfortable piece for us. We were supposed to do something original, but we insisted on doing this song, and everyone at the agency loved it.

DJ : It suits you.

Tiffany : It worked out perfectly

Tiffany : And Seohyun always liked this style of music as well…

Seohyun : I was quite jealous of these two.

Tiffany : But it all worked out for her.

DJ : What a smart group of ladies not making their agency worry and coming up with a song on their own. “We want to be TaeTiSeo”, not TTS.” I like your confidence.
Let’s hear the song. Here’s “Twinkle”!!!!!
