NA: Do-yeon, you are known as the queen of melodramatic movies. You were in so many films, including “The Contact”. “A Promise”, “Happy End”, “A Harmonium In My Memory”, “Untold Scandal” and “You’re My Sunshine” among many more. What about “A Man and A Woman” attracted you?

Jeon: It’s been a while since I starred in a melodramatic movie. This is a story about strong and passionate love. But Director Lee Yoon-gi is known for being dry. I wondered how he would have interpreted a romantic love story.

Gong: I’d often mentioned during interviews that I’d like to be in a melodramatic film. I really wanted to give it a try when I was in my mid to late 30s. I wanted to act about the love of grown-ups. Also, I’ve always wanted to be in a film with Jeon Do-yeon since I was young, thinking it would be even better if it were a romantic drama. This film checked both boxes off my list. So, I had no reason not to be in it.

NA: So, you’ve wanted to be in a romantic drama with Jeon Do-yeon.

Gong: That’s right.

NA: It’s like a dream come true.

Gong: Yes, it is.

NA: Jeon Do-yeon is the number one actress male actors want to film a movie with. You already knew that, didn’t you, Do-yeon?

Jeon: Yes, I did.

NA: It was mentioned in many articles. Have you read them all?

Jeon: No, not all of them. But I heard about it.

NA: Gong Yoo had no reason to say no to starring in a romantic film with Jeon Do-yeon.
