“G.I. Joe 2” topped the box office in five countries in Asia aside from Korea. According to its distributor, CJ E&M, “G.I. Joe 2” topped the box office charts in Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and Taiwan in its first screening week. 

“G.I. Joe 2” was shown in theaters on March 28 in Korea and North America, and drew in 840,000 movie goers in Korea in its first week, rising to the top of the box office chart. In the U.S., it grossed USD 41,200,000 and topped the weekend box office charts. Then it topped box office charts in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. In total, it grossed USD 130,000,000 worldwide in its first showing week. The movie is a big issue in Asia because it stars Hallyu star Lee Byeong-hun, and people are waiting to see if it will be an even bigger success than its prequel.

“G.I. Joe 2” is an action-packed movie about the battle between Cobra and G.I. Joes, who are framed by Zartan. It stars Lee Byeong-hun, Dwayne Johnson, Bruce Willis, and Adrianne Palicki.
