Will romantic comedy “Very Ordinary Couple” Become the 2013 “Architecture 101”?

Will the first-love syndrome that swept people off their feet last spring mature into a realistic relationship this year? Exactly a year after “Architecture 101,” a new kind of love story has arrived. It is “Very Ordinary Couple,” starring Lee Min-ki and Kim Min-hee.

Last year, “Architecture 101” reminded us that we were all somebody’s first love. “Architecture 101” was like a spring shower for the soul, touching people’s hearts with the story of a first love fostered in freshman architecture class that only comes to an end 15 years later. Eom Tae-woong-Han Ga-In and Suzy-Lee Jae-hun pairs was also a complete success. The movie started off a high season for Korean movies and drew in 4.1 million moviegoers. It was the highest record then for a romance movie.

“Very Ordinary Couple,” to be released on March 21, tells a different love story. The movie poster of two lovely people suggests a romantic comedy. But the movie is a cool love story that begins with a break up. It is a story that will knock on the hearts of couples who find that they are just not cool enough even when the relationship has ended. The movie is already garnering rave reviews.

The movie is filled with detailed devices that give a glimpse into the true feelings of men and women who torment each other after they break up, but still find themselves thinking about each other. Lee Min-ki and Kim Min-hee act as if they were a real couple, adding to the fun of the movie.
