According to the Korea Film Council’s box office statistics on the 21st, “Veteran” (37.1% of revenues) had 4,184 screenings at 813 cinemas on the previous day and drew in 223,841 moviegoers, topping the box office chart.
Released on the 5th, “Veteran” has a total of 7,697,126 admissions to date. It has only 300,000 tickets to sell before finally reaching the 8 million admission mark. Considering that it drew in 200,000-300,000 moviegoers each day in the 5th week, the movie is expected to surpass the 8 million admissions mark on Friday.
Romantic movie “Beauty Inside” featuring Han Hyo-joo surpassed the 10-million-admission movie “Assassination” on the first day of its release and came second on the box office chart. Released the day before, “Beauty Inside” (18.9%) had 2,819 screenings on 633 screens and drew 114,405 moviegoers. It pushed “Assassination” (14%), screened 2,147 times on 566 screens to 87,912 moviegoers, a step below.
