Kim Yun-seok “I Don’t’ Want to Go to an Island Ever Again”

Kim Yun-seok talked about his experience on filming on an island for “Run to the South” (directed by Lim Sun-rye) At the press conference held at Lotte Cinema on January 8, he made it clear that he does not want to go to an island ever again.

“During the filming of the movie, I attended an event to celebrate the 10 million admissions for ‘The Thieves.’ All comments on my photos were about my burning red face. It was that hot and hard, and there was no air conditioning on the island; we had to rely on fans. There weren’t any lodgings or shops.”

”What’s special about that island is that it’s the island with the biggest population of insects. I won’t mention the name of the island because people there won’t like it, but when I woke up in the morning, there would be dead snakes around me. It was amazing. The crew members all got grass allergy, so they all bundled up in clothes,” continued Kim Yun-seok. “I do not want to go to any island that does not have a landing field for airplanes.”

“Run to the South” is based on a novel of the same name by Japanese writer Okuda Hideo. It follows the story of an obstinate, legendary athlete Choi Hae-gab (Kim Yun-seok) and his family who leave for an island in the south. It stars Kim Yun-seok, Oh Yeon-su, Han Ye-ri, Kim Seong-gyun, Baek Seung-hwan and Park Sa-rang. It will come to theaters on February 7.
