American Media All Praises for “Snowpiercer”: Expanded to 250 Screens

After “Snowpiercer” came to theaters in the USA on the 27th, the media has been busy churning out praises for the movie. Backed up by the rave reviews of critics and audiences, “Snowpiercer” that began with eight screens on the first day will be played on 250 screens across the country from the 4th. It is off to a good start, jumping from four screens to 250 in just a week.

Major daily newspaper “USA Today” commented that “Snowpiercer” perfectly blends “a futuristic action thriller with the intellectual substance of an art film.” It also praised the movie as the most visually stunning work among the recent releases. “LA Times” called it a movie that is set on a “scale that is both personal and epic” while “NY Times” commented that it would satisfy the audience searching for an action movie in summer. Famous film journals gave positive feedback as well. The world’s most esteemed film magazine “Variety” described it as “an enormously ambitious, visually stunning and richly satisfying futuristic epic from the gifted Korean genre director Bong Joon-ho.”

The biggest rival of “Variety,” “Hollywood Reporter” praised the movie as “an intellectually and artistically superior vehicle to many of the end-of-days futuristic action thrillers out there.” America’s major entertainment magazine “Entertainment Weekly” gave the movie Grade A and praised it as the best black comedy of the summer and a work that represents the present times.

“Rolling Stone” raised expectations by calling it “a strong contender for the most exciting, visually striking and smartest action movie of the season” and a “blockbuster for the international art-house crowd.”

Famous film websites were quick to give positive reviews on the American release of “Snowpiercer.” The movie has received 94% Fresh on Rotten Tomato and been named “a must-see movie of this summer” by “Liberty Voice,” “Hollywood News” and “Chrone” among others.
