The premiere of drama ‘Castle Of Witch’ hits a two-digit rating, showing ‘smooth start’

A SBS new daily drama entitled ‘Castle Of Witch’ started smoothly, hitting a two-digit rating. The drama ‘Castle of Witch’ debuted on December 14th and recorded a viewer rating of 10.2% according to AGB Nielsen Media Research. This rating, which resulted from viewers’ roaring attention, is 3 percentage points higher than that of the previous drama titled ‘The Return of Hwang Geum Bok’, 7.2%. Particularly, instantaneous maximum viewership rating reached 14.4% at the scene where Dan-byeol (actress Choi Jung-won) recalled the pleasant past when she celebrated Jun-yeong (actor Kim Jeong-hun) passing the bar exam together.

The 1st episode of ‘Castle of Witch’ increased the degree of viewers’ engagement with the scenes that Dan-byeol and Jun-yeong pushed ahead with their marriage against the objection of Jun-yeong’s mother Yang Ho-deok (actress Yu Ji-in) making sure of their deep love. Moreover, a variety of exciting stories were developed such as an extramarital relationship between Ho-deok’s husband Gong Nam-su (actor Jung Han-yong) and Seo Mil-rae (actress Kim Sun-kyung) and psychological warfare between Shin Gang-hyeon (actor Seo Ji-seok) and Mun Hee-jae (actress Lee Hae-in).

The production staff expressed their gratitude for viewers’ support and asked for continued expectations and said, “We have endeavored to maximize dramatic tension and excitement with speedy development and plenty of stories, which has successfully induced viewers’ positive response. There will be more compelling episodes including conflicts between Oh Dan-byeol and Yang Ho-deok and affairs between a guilty lover Gong Nam-su and a wicked woman Seo Mil-rae. Please pay more attention to our drama.”
