Kang Ji-hwan Dominates “Big Man”

Actor Kang Ji-hwan is set to demonstrate “true leadership” in his comeback drama “Big Man.” TV series “Big Man” tells the turbulent story of Kim Ji-hyuk (Kang Ji-hwan), a good-for-nothing who suddenly finds himself in the circle of the super-rich. It depicts the incidents and events of his struggle to become a true leader. Born an orphan and a natural fighter, Kim Ji-hyuk has seen and has done it all in the backwater of the streets. Falsely convicted of murder, he hunts down the real murderer while staying afloat by working as a driver-for-hire.

Then one day he wakes up in a completely different world: the life of the eldest heir to the Hyunsung Group that has the entire Korea in its grip. After an accident leaves Hyunsung Group’s initial heir Kang Dong-seok (Choi Daniel) in a life-threatening condition that requires him to receive a heart transplant, Kim Ji-hyuk is selected as a sacrifice to save Kang. He is registered as the son of Kang Dong-seok’s father Kang Seong-wook (Eom Hyo-seop) and is declared brain dead. However, during the heart transplant operation, he miraculously regains consciousness. It was his will to survive.

Kang Ji-hwan has engrossed himself completely in the role of Kim Ji-hyuk, talking rough and looking mean. At the same time, he also appeared as a liberating character who abides by his own laws. His first scene was a breathless chasing scene with Song Jae-rim who made a special appearance in the drama. Also, Kang’s superb chemistry with cop Park Won-sang added zest to the plot. It was also touching to see him engage in petty arguments with Song Ok-sook who takes him in as her own son.

“Kim Ji-hyuk has multiple charms. I was captivated by the scenario from the very beginning because Kim Ji-hyuk is a character that can show my many faces,” said Kang Ji-hwan. “I feel the pressure to portray the completely opposite images of low-life Kim Ji-hyuk and elite Kang Ji-hyuk with conviction. But I’m trying to enjoy the work as much as possible. I promise to give my best for everyone who supports me.” He showed unlimited love for his new drama “Big Man.”
