“Inspiring Generation” Kim Hyun-jung Seizes Both Acting and Viewer Rating

According to a TV viewership survey, KBS 2TV’s “Inspiring Generation Ep.15” that aired on March 5 recorded 12% viewer rating nationwide, the highest among all dramas that aired at the same time. After SBS “My Love from the Star” ended, “Inspiring Generation” took the throne of Wednesday-Thursday dramas.
The success of “Inspiring Generation” can be attributed first and foremost to Kim Hyun-jung. In Episode 15, Kim Hyun-jung was Shin Jeong-tae himself, resolved to get his vengeance for his father and geared up with clever plans and better fight skills. The drama became more entertaining as Shin Jeong-tae changed his stance from an observer in fist fights to an action-taker.
The drama is further fueled by the characters around Shin Jeong-tae, such as Gaya, Seol Du-sung, Jeong Jae-hwa, and Kim Ok-ryeon, who have become more intimately related to each other. Shin Jeong-tae joins hands with Jeong Jae-hwa to get back at his father’s enemy Seol Du-sung. While Seol Du-sung strikes back, Gaya jumps into the scene to take advantage of the conflict between Seol Du-sung and Shin Jeong-tae. The Shanghai underworld is in for a big change as is the relationship between Shin Jeong-tae, Gaya, and Kim Ok-ryeon. After Shin Jeong-tae and Gaya settle a long-standing misunderstanding, Gaya is explicit in her expression of jealousy toward Kim Ok-ryeon.
Now that the hero of the drama has picked himself up, the characters around him are helping him to move forward even more quickly. This is speeding up the plot of the drama. Furthermore, all the subplots are finally coming together toward an end, heightening the suspense of the drama. At the same time, Aoki (Yun Hyun-min), who is secretly in love with Gaya, is rising as another antagonist in the story while the relationship between Mo Il-hwa (Song Jae-rim) and Shin Jeong-tae looks like it will get a twist. There is also sly Dokku (Eom Tae-gu) to take note of. Not knowing how the story will unfold from here, the viewers are completely engrossed in “Inspiring Generation.”
