The MBC drama “Gu Family Book” made the viewers teary when Lee Seung-gi and Yun Se-ah, playing son and mother in the drama, met for the first time.
 
In Episode 19, Yun Seo-hwa (Yun Se-ah) and her son Kang-chi (Lee Seung-gi) have a teary reunion. Seo-hwa even reveals her real identity to her enemy to save her son. However, when she is unable to tell Kang-chi that she is his mother, she weeps in silence alone.

Kang-chi falls prey to the schemes of Cho Gwan-ung (Lee Seung-jae) and faces hanging. Seo-hwa, dressed in hanbok, breaks up the crowd and reveals her true identity.
“Stop. That’s enough. You have won.” she tells Cho. “I am the Yun Seo-hwa that you killed twenty years ago.”  

Having saved Kang-chi, Seo-hwa learns of Kang-chi’s life from Choi Ga (Kim Dong-gyun) who acted as his father. However, when she sees her son’s face, she breaks into tears and leaves the room, telling Choi Ga not to tell Kang-chi about her. Kang-chi opens his eyes slowly and looks at the door. Kang-chi had been aware of Seo-hwa’s identity all along, and is pushed deeper into despair by Seo-hwa and Choi Ga’s conversation.

As Seo-hwa watches Kang-chi leave, she drops to the floor and beats her chest, weeping silently. This scene between mother and son left the viewers teary eyed. Lee Seung-gi’s crying and Yun Se-ah’s silent weeping were enough to have the viewers reaching for tissue.
