“Marry Him If You Dare” Ends at Last Place with a Great Cast

KBS 2TV’s series “Marry Him If You Dare” ended with the lowest viewership among the three dramas that aired on Monday and Tuesday nights, but the viewers are still giving their hand to the cast for their impressive work. On the last episode of the drama that aired on December 3, the main characters decide to stop worrying about the future and give their best for the present. Three years later, Mi-rae (Yun Eun-hye) has become a bestseller author, and Kim Shin (Lee Dong-geon) has become a respected pressman. Se-ju (Jeong Yong-hwa) is back from studying abroad, and Yu-gyeong (Han Chae-ah) is the host of a talk show named after her.

However, “Marry Him If You Dare” failed in its plot. The “future” Mi-rae (Choi Myeong-gil) time travels to give advice to the “present” Mi-rae to help her make better choices, but the only difference that results from this is Mi-rae’s husband. However, even that choice becomes a useless one. Furthermore, the “present” Mi-rae failed to fully portray the dilemma of having to choose between the man she loves (Kim Shin) and the man she must love (Se-ju). Viewers even criticized the heroine for being manipulative and intentionally vague with the men.

On the other hand, the cast received a much more positive review. Yun Eun-hye, returning to a much more cheerful role from the traumatized heroine of “I Miss You,” led the drama with her lovely smile and enthusiasm. She shared a dazzling chemistry with Lee Dong-geon and Jeong Yong-hwa, and kept the viewers curious until the end as to whom she will eventually choose. As expected from the “queen of tears,” she convincingly portrayed 32-year-old Mi-rae who looks bright on the outside but is struggling to bear the pressure.

Away from TV dramas for five years, Lee Dong-geon returned with his unchanged princely good looks, but with a sharp tongue for his role. Called the “god of swearing” for his role in the drama, he carefully expressed a character that constantly goes back and forth between being warm and cold. Meanwhile, Jeong Yong-hwa impressed the viewers with his adept portrayal of the undercover boss Se-ju who is both a VJ and the heir of the broadcast station and has both warm compassion and sharp charisma. His devoted love for a woman was enough to melt the hearts of female viewers.
