“It’s difficult but too appealing to give up,” said FT Island member and actor Lee Hong-ki when asked about his music and acting careers. Lee attended the press conference for TV Chosun’s drama “Bride of the Century” held at Club Vanguard in Samseong-dong, Seoul, on February 19. He said, “I want to be loved by many people for my music and acting.” Having entered the acting business as a child, he says that he does not want to talk about his acting skills from that time.

“I was young then. As an adult, I went into acting thinking that it was my first time,” he said. “It does upset me when I hear talks about my acting, but that also makes me want to take the challenge.”

He added, “I really want to do an attractive character and hear people say, ‘Lee Hong-ki really suits that kind of attractive, unique character.’ I want to be good at acting and singing. So I really think a lot about what I can do in Korea and abroad.” He repeated that he is really trying hard so that many people will support his music and acting.

“It’s really hard. People ask me if it’s not hard, but I just say that I have to work hard. I will try hard until many people lose their bias about me. So I have a lot to do and I have to work really hard to get the chance to prove myself. Please give me your support. It’s very difficult to handle both jobs, but I can’t give them up.”

“Bride of the Century” is a fantasy romance about Korea’s wealthiest conglomerate Taeyang Group, which is under a curse that the first bride that enters the family will die. The drama will illustrate the conspiracies surrounding that curse and true love that blooms like a fairytale.
