“Beast Idols” 2PM to Return as “Men”

When they stood on their dream stage, the Tokyo Dome, they called it a new beginning. Will 2PM take off their “beast idol” image and return as “men?’

In Korea, 2PM’s image can be described by terms like “a beast idol” and “a performance group.” They have given themselves a distinct identity in the K-pop scene with their powerful performances and good looks. They exude the kind of energy that is embodied in the word “beast.”

Driven by the bold and unbound energy of being in their twenties, 2PM gained both maturity and a laid-back attitude from their experiences in Japan. Their numerous performances and acts in the J-pop music scene over the last three years have made them stronger. This is why 2PM cannot be seen lightly anymore.

Since their debut in Japan in 2010, the six-member idol group 2PM have released two singles and two albums and have given four solo concerts. The Tokyo Dome concert was composed of songs that the members co-wrote, displaying the members’ confidence on the stage that they honed over the years.

Now, what they need is composure, gravity, and ease to grow up from cool “guys” to mature “men”—men who are not simply masculine in looks, but who makes others feel reassured in their presence.

To become a group geared with real masculine charms and not just mere looks, 2PM will need to show that they can handle any situation with an unfaltering composure and an easygoing attitude that comes with experience.
