BTS Tops Oricon Charts, “Run Run” Runs to Japan

Bangtan Boys, or BTS, topped the weekly Oricon Charts as of the news posted on Oricon’s official website on the morning of the 16th. On the 15th, according to the chart, BTS’s sixth album titled “Run (Japanese Ver.),” which was released in Japan, topped Oricon daily single chart by selling approximately 53,000 albums on the first day of its release. BTS ranked first on the Oricon single chart for three years straight, following “For You,” and “I Need U (Japanese Ver.),” BTS’s single albums released last year. In addition, the Blu-ray and DVD of 2015 BTS Live In the Mood for Love on Stage—Japan Edition at Yokohama Arena Concert topped Oricon chart as well, catching the attention of people.  


Fans hearing the news showed enthusiastic responses saying, “Congratulations on BTS’s topping the Oricon chart!”, “Those are my boys—BTS!”, “Can’t believe that they topped the Oricon chart too!”, “Run! Now, they are running to Japan!” and so on. Meanwhile, “Run (Japanese Ver.)” also ranked first in the daily sales record of Tower Record, the biggest Japanese record shop on the 15th, the date of the album’s release.
