The hottest phenomenon of 2012, PSY's "Gangnam Style" music video has recorded more than 800 million views on YouTube. Hopefully, this will be a consolation to fans around the world who were disappointed that "Gangnam Style" didn't make it to the number one spot on Billboard. The music video exceeded the 100 million-mark views on YouTube on September 4, a first for a Korean singer. Four months later, it surpassed the 800 million views. It took Justin Bieber 33 months to pass the 800 million views but PSY did it in just one quarter. If this isn't an astonishing achievement, what is?  

It's true that YouTube has played a pivotal role in the PSY syndrome. PSY may just be the biggest YouTube star in history. But now, he has almost become a PR figure for YouTube.
