Idol group EXO’s first official album “XOXO (Kiss & Hug)” is set to take the “million seller” title. As of October 11, the first album has sold 441,332 copies (released on June 3) and the repackaged edition has sold 469,641 copies (released on August 5), making that a total of 910,973 copies sold. Moreover, the first album is still a steady seller, which means EXO can look forward to the 1 million mark. 
Million sellers in the record industry practically disappeared after Kim Geon-mo’s 7th album and g.o.d.’s 4th album in 2001. The album market collapsed when illegal downloading took over and the legal online music market only emerged in 2005. EXO’s feat is a first since the new market took shape. They have already set a record in early September for exceeding the 700,000 mark for the first time in 12 years when their album sold 740,000 copies in 3 months.
Meanwhile, EXO will participate in the “SMTOWN Live World Tour III in BEIJING” that will take place at the Beijing National Stadium on October 19. It will be the first time that a foreign team will perform at this venue.
