GOT7’s Japanese debut single “Around the World” is ranked third on the Oricon Weekly Chart. Upon release on the 22nd, “Around the World” became a sensation on numerous music charts and ranked second on the Oricon Daily Chart (Oct. 26) and third on the Weekly Chart. Moreover, GOT7 is known to have the highest Oricon points for debut single among K-pop singers who debuted in Japan between 2013 and 2014.
GOT7 is also placed first, third, and fifth on the World Daily Chart (Oct. 27) ranked by Japan’s largest record store, Tower Record. “Around the World” was also ranked first in a survey of the singles weekly chart of all branches between Oct. 20 and Oct. 26.
GOT7 celebrated their Japanese debut with 10,000 fans in Tokyo on the 26th. They will go on to meet with their local fans at the final performance of their first Japanese tour “GOT7 1st Japan Tour 2014 Around the World” at Makuhari Messe in Tokyo on Nov. 4 and 5.
GOT7 is a budding rookie group that debuted in Korea in January this year. The music videos of their debut song “Girls Girls Girls” and “A,” the title track of their second mini album, received more than 10 million hits on YouTube, attesting to their popularity in both Korea and abroad.
